Spring wedding decorations with blush pink florals, crystal chandeliers, and white garden chairs

Spring weddings are one of my favorite things to talk about, and if you've been around here for a while, that comes as no surprise. The variety of flowers, the tablescapes, the bright colors, and on and on…

Now sure, the fun part is the inspiration. But the hard part is figuring out how to take all those gorgeous ideas and turn them into a cohesive reception design that comes together.

And that’s what we’re covering in this post. I'm walking you through some of my favorite decoration ideas so you can start planning out your spring wedding reception with some real direction.

Spring reception centerpiece with lush blooms in soft pinks and whites

Flowers, Flowers, and More Flowers

What’s a spring wedding reception without flowers? You have so many to pick from! You can’t go wrong with floral arrangements of white, cream, and blush roses all throughout your reception.

Carry that same palette from your ceremony flowers all the way through to your reception centerpieces so everything ties together perfectly. Be sure to work with your florist to create a signature look that you’ll fall in love with.

Wedding chairs draped with soft lavender sashes tied with floral stems

Gorgeous Chair Sashes

I’m obsessed with a draped chair sash done right. That soft lavender fabric tied with a few floral stems is going above and beyond to let your guests feel like they're sitting somewhere really special.

Consult with your event stylist about fabric options. Silk, chiffon, and velvet all drape differently, and the right one depends on the overall vibe for your reception.

Long banquet table styled for an outdoor spring wedding reception

The Long Table Is the Move for Spring Receptions

I think long banquet tables are one of the most eye-catching choices you can make for an outdoor spring reception. If your venue has gorgeous architectural details like arched walkways or colonnades, a long table setup lets all of that beauty work for you.

Go with white linens, fresh foliage centerpiece runners down the center, and pops of color from spring flowers like vibrant orange tulips.

It also creates a natural flow that encourages guests to mingle and connect with one another, which is really what a great wedding reception is all about.

Four-tiered hexagonal white wedding cake with delicate spring details

Who Said a Wedding Cake Always Has to Be Round?

Not me! This four-tiered hexagonal cake is clean, modern, and totally spring. The white backdrop with delicate coral beaded borders on each tier is such a subtle but lovely accent.

And those orange orchids cascading from top to bottom tie the whole look together perfectly. Spring weddings are the perfect time to let your cake be in the spotlight.

Meet with your baker about incorporating food-safe petals, or even sugar flowers, that echo your overall spring wedding colors.

White and gold spring reception table with elegant place settings

White and Gold Done Right

There's one color combo that might not come to mind for a spring reception. And that’s white and gold. However, this tablescape is proof that it can (and should) be done.

These gold-rimmed charger plates and matching gold flatware with white linens are so elegant. And the greenery keeps things from coming off as too stiff. Then the gold-framed chairs with woven detailing are such a nice touch too.

This is the kind of setup that’s more like a luxurious dinner party rather than a stuffy formal wedding reception. If you're planning a spring wedding and want that airy, dreamy vibe, then here you go.

Flowing botanical runner trailing down the center of a banquet table

Let Your Centerpiece Come Alive

I vote “yes” for a long, flowing botanical runner trailing down the center of a banquet table. It’s one of the easiest ways to bring that spring garden look to your reception.

You can go with white roses, tropical leaves, and then have little candle holders tucked in between.

Ask your florist about mixing different sizes and adding some height variation with orchid stems or small bud vases. It keeps the eye moving and gives life to the whole table. Spring wedding reception goals!

Bold coral and soft pink flower arrangements running down a reception table

The Spring Combo You’re Falling in Love with

Those bold coral and soft pink flower arrangements running down the center of the table are the star of the show, and rightfully so. The combo of full, fluffy clusters is so dynamic. You can’t help but fall in love (again)!

And the way the floral installation carries up the wall really ties the whole room together. If you're wanting a more warm and romantic take for your spring reception, this might be for you.

Boho spring tablescape with an unexpected, breezy decorative element

Boho, Breezy, and Completely Dreamy

I love when a tablescape has that one unexpected component that makes you stop and look twice, like this outdoor spring reception setup.

Those dried pampas grass chargers are such a creative decor idea. And the sage green linen napkins are the perfect pop of color against all that warm neutral and white.

Set it all outside under open sky with trees in the background and you've got yourself a spring wedding tablescape that’s perfect for a lovely afternoon with the people you love most. What a breath of fresh air compared to the typical ballroom look.

Loosely gathered pink peonies, roses, and greenery in simple vases on a garden-style table

Garden Romance Never Looked This Easy

No giant centerpieces here. Just loosely gathered bunches of pink peonies, roses, and greenery in simple clear glass vases scattered naturally down the table. This look works especially well outdoors because it’s like the garden just grew right onto the table.

For more pops of pinks, add in some slim pink tapered candles. They add height and a soft romantic glow as the evening light fades, and they look great even before they're lit!

Tuck all of this under a canopy of string lights with green trees as your backdrop and you've got a spring reception that’s right out of a storybook. It's relaxed, it's beautiful, and it lets the natural backdrop do half the decorating for you.

Pastel spring centerpiece of lavender, pink, and creamy white flowers

This Pastel Spring Tablescape is Everything

Lavender, pink, and creamy white flowers all together is the kind of spring centerpiece I want at every single table. Ask your florist about mixing garden roses, ranunculus, hydrangea, and sweet peas together for that hand-picked look that works so well on a white linen tablecloth.

Citrus and coral spring reception table with bright, cheerful florals

A Citrusy-Toned Spring Reception

If you've been thinking soft pastels are the only way to do spring, think again! Go for a citrus and coral spring reception tablescape. It’s bright, joyful, and definitely spring.

The mix of orange poppies, yellow petals, light pinks, and coral accents together creates this wild garden energy front and center for your guests.

Spring Wedding Decoration FAQs

What flowers work best for a spring wedding reception?
Peonies, roses, ranunculus, tulips, and lilac are all lovely choices, paired with fresh greenery for a garden-inspired look. Ask your florist what is in season so your blooms look their best.
How do I decorate long banquet tables without making them feel crowded?
Try a flowing botanical runner or low, loosely gathered bunches in simple vases so guests can still see each other. Add candles or taper holders for height and a soft glow.
Are pastels my only option for a spring color palette?
Not at all. Citrus and coral tones, or even white and gold, can feel just as fresh and romantic for spring. Choose the palette that fits your venue and your personal style.
How far ahead should I book my florist and decor team?
For popular spring dates, I recommend booking 9 to 12 months out. That gives you time to finalize your vision and secure the vendors you love.
